These are the terms for buying from The Tshirt Mill and for using thetshirtmill.com.au. The Tshirt Mill is a registered business name of Apparel Printing Industries Pty Ltd (ABN 59 648 591 806), 11 Maud Street, Newstead QLD 4006. "We", "us" and "our" mean that company. Last updated: [date you publish].
By placing an order, creating an account or using the website you agree to these terms. If you buy as a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (see clause 17).
1. What we do
We print and embroider garments and products that you design or upload, sell the blank garments we stock once they are decorated, provide an online designer and templates, and host affiliate stores and fundraising campaigns on our platform, which runs on DecoNetwork. Online orders are printed with Direct to Film (DTF) unless the product or your quote says otherwise.
2. Your account
Keep your login details private. You are responsible for orders placed through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it. Checking out as a guest creates an account for you, and we email you the login so you can track your order.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST unless marked otherwise. Bulk discounts are applied automatically in the cart; the current tiers are on our Pricing & Turnaround page. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express (processed by Stripe), PayPal and Afterpay. An order goes into production once it is paid in full. Goods remain our property until they are paid for.
4. Quotes
Quotes are valid for the period shown on the quote. A quote becomes an order when you accept it in writing or pay it. Quoted jobs may use screen printing, embroidery or other methods, and the quote will say which.
5. When your order is approved
We start work when we have your artwork, your garment choices and sizes, and full payment. Any of these counts as your approval to proceed: completing checkout and paying online, paying an invoice, or approving a mock-up or quote in writing or by phone. Once approved, an order cannot be changed or cancelled (clause 10). If you spot a mistake, call us immediately on 07 3846 1008; if production has not started we will do what we can.
6. Production times
Production time is counted in business days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays) from the day we have your approval and payment. Orders placed after 10am start the next business day because of our supplier cut-off times.
- Standard: 7 to 10 business days
- Express (5 day production): 3 to 5 business days
- Super Express (3 day or next day production): 1 to 3 business days
Shipping time is added on top (clause 9). These ranges are our best estimate rather than a promise of a date. Peak periods, stock shortages and public holidays can push an order to the top of its range, and if we expect to go beyond it we will contact you. Rush orders are made with extra labour and extended hours; standard orders are not held back to make room for them. If we miss a rush production window for reasons within our control, we refund the rush fee.
7. Your artwork
You are responsible for what you send us: spelling, grammar, layout, size, placement, colours and the quality of the file. We print what you upload at the size and position you set in the designer. We do not proof or check artwork from online orders; the preview in the designer is your proof. Quoted and bulk jobs receive a mock-up to approve before we print.
For a good print, supply artwork at 300 dpi at print size, with a transparent background where you want one, and avoid fine lines or text under about 0.5mm, drop shadows, glows, soft transparency, screenshots and images saved from social media. Images made with AI tools often contain defects that are hard to see on screen (misspelt text, warped edges, blurred areas); check them closely, because they are not print-ready by default.
If you want us to fix a file, ask before you order. Resizing, centring and simple background removal are free; anything more is quoted. We will not reprint or refund where the finished product matches the artwork you supplied.
8. Colour and tolerances
Screens show colour in RGB; DTF prints in CMYK plus a white underbase, so printed colours differ from what you see on a screen or mock-up. DTF cannot print neon, fluorescent, metallic, glitter or holographic effects, and soft effects such as fades, glows and shadows print more solid than they look on screen. Garment colours vary between brands and dye lots and look different under different lighting.
These are normal and are not faults:
- Garment measurements within +/- 2.5cm of the size chart
- Print position within +/- 2cm of the preview
- Variation of up to 5% in print colour, size or placement, including between garments in one order and between repeat orders
Exact Pantone matching is available only on screen printing jobs quoted for it. Order a sample first if colour is critical.
9. Delivery, pickup and risk
Choose at checkout: Regular Post (2 to 6 business days, tracked), Express Post (1 to 2 business days), free pickup from 11 Maud Street, Newstead, 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, or international delivery (allow up to 30 business days; any customs duties and taxes are payable by the recipient). Delivery times are the carrier's estimates and start when we dispatch. Express Post speeds up delivery, not production; choose a rush production option as well if you need the order made faster.
Check your address carefully. If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong or it was not collected, we will ask you to pay the postage to send it again. If a tracked parcel is lost or arrives damaged, tell us as soon as you can; we will take it up with the carrier and reprint or refund the order, so you are not left out of pocket for a parcel we sent that did not arrive. Responsibility for the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the address you gave us or collected by you. Pickup orders not collected within 90 days may be donated or disposed of after we have tried to contact you.
10. Changes and cancellations
Because every order is made for you, an order cannot be changed or cancelled once it is approved (clause 5). If you ask before production starts and we agree to cancel, we may deduct a $5 per item restocking fee, any artwork or design charges already incurred, and payment processing fees. Rush orders cannot be cancelled once approved. Nothing in this clause affects your rights under clause 17.
11. Garments you supply (BYO)
We can print on garments you bring in. Because we did not make or choose the garment, we are not responsible for faults in the garment itself or for how it reacts to heat and pressure, such as shrinkage, dye migration, press marks or damage to synthetic trims. We take the same care with your garments as with our own stock, and we recommend bringing a spare to test first. If we damage your garment through our own carelessness, we will work out a fair fix with you. BYO garments need an order number before drop-off, and you will be asked to sign our BYO acknowledgement.
12. Caring for your print
Wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle. Do not tumble dry, bleach or iron directly on the print. Dry in the shade. Prints wear with use, and hospitality, industrial and commercial laundering shorten their life. Damage caused by not following these instructions is not a fault.
13. Affiliate stores, print on demand and fundraising
If you open an affiliate store or fundraising campaign on our platform: you set your prices and are responsible for your store's content and promotion; we print, pack and ship the orders placed in it; commissions are paid to your PayPal account at the start of each month, and fundraising proceeds are paid when the campaign closes; we provide limited help with setup; and we may close stores that have been inactive for 12 months or that breach clause 15. Personal information collected through your store is handled under our Privacy Policy.
14. Your designs and other people's rights
You keep ownership of your designs. You give us permission to store and reproduce them to make your order and to show the finished product to you. We will not use your designs in our own marketing without asking you first. By uploading content you confirm that you own it or have the right to use it, including logos, characters, photographs and fonts. You are responsible for any claim that your artwork infringes someone else's rights, and you agree to reimburse us for losses we suffer as a result.
15. Content we will not print
We will refuse or cancel orders for content that is illegal, sexually explicit, hateful or discriminatory, or that infringes trademarks or copyright, including unlicensed brand, sports, band and character artwork. We may also decline orders we cannot produce to a good standard. If we cancel an order under this clause, we refund what you have paid for it.
16. Our guarantee
If we get your order wrong (a print or embroidery fault, a faulty garment, the wrong garment, size or colour from what you ordered, or damage in transit) we will reprint it free, or refund it if a reprint will not fix the problem. Tell us within 14 days of delivery, with photos, so we can act quickly. The full terms are on our Guarantee page and the process is in our Returns and Reprints Policy.
17. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights. The consumer guarantees do not cover change of mind, mistakes in the artwork or options you chose, the normal variations in clause 8, damage from misuse or incorrect care, or the BYO garment matters in clause 11.
18. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (for example lost profits, a missed event or the cost of substitute goods), and our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Where the law lets us limit our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee, we limit it to supplying the goods or services again or paying the cost of doing so. This clause does not apply to any liability that cannot be limited by law, including under clause 17.
19. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as supplier stock shortages, carrier disruptions, power or equipment failure, floods or other severe weather, or industrial action. If a delay of this kind is significant we will tell you and offer a revised date or a refund of anything not yet produced.
20. Privacy
We handle your personal information under our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the website when you place an order is the one that applies to that order.
22. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. For questions, complaints or claims: 07 3846 1008 (8am to 4pm Monday to Friday), sales@thetshirtmill.com.au, or Apparel Printing Industries Pty Ltd, 11 Maud Street, Newstead QLD 4006.
